Scholarship options
There are many state scholarship programs that support foreign students who study in Korea. For example, the Global Korean Scholarship (GKS) allows students to study for free at Korean universities all degree levels and learn Korean language during the language courses.
The scholarship fully covers tuition (₩800,000), research costs (up to ₩480,000), and health insurance. Students also get monthly stipends. The GKS is highly competitive, and the competition is merit-based.
Korean universities also offer financial aid to foreign students. It is usually a 30-100% discount on tuition. You can find more information on university websites.

A C-3 tourist visa is enough for programs lasting up to 3 months (language courses, for instance). If you study for longer than a semester, then you must apply for a D-4 visa. This visa is also suitable for short-term and long-term internships.If you are going to study at Korean school, technical college, or university, you must obtain a long-term D-2 student visa.
