Greek universities provide a wide range of subjects – Humanities, Law, Economics, Management, Medicine, and STEM.
Language requirements
You can apply to Greek universities even if you don’t speak Greek. In this case, you will have to take Greek language courses prior to your degree studies. Language courses cost around €750 and usually take place in Athens or Thessaloniki. If you take language courses, your further education will be completely free.
Living costs
Cost of living in Greece is around €500 per month. This includes accommodation and food expenses.
Scholarship options
If you are already a student at a Greek university, and your academic performance is good enough, you can get a scholarship that may cover your living expenses. Education is free in Greece.
Student visa procedures
Incoming students must obtain a student visa after they get a letter of acceptance from a Greek university.

University application deadlines
The application deadline at Greek universities is usually July 2023. Our recommendation is to start preparing for the admission process as soon as possible – 6-8 months in advance.
University application requirements
Greek universities usually require to provide:
- previous degree certificate (high school or university), must be legally verified
*if you apply for graduate programs, your previous degree must be in a relevant field
- If you apply for programs taught in Greek, you don’t need to provide any language certificates, but you have to take a year-long language course prior to your degree studies.
